Heavy Metal Review 184s5l

What do you get when you take a classic slot game with no extra features and give it a game title that most people would find unappealing? You would get the classic pub machine titled Heavy Metal, provided by the game designers at Microgaming. Interestingly enough, the game has nothing to do with music. It focuses on the adventures of the green haired Cyber Girl who is clad in a blue leather suit. The metal most likely refers to the bullets that are used to represent bars on the game's reels. With ordinary background sounds thrown into the mix, players will be challenged to find anything in the offering other than a decent sized maximum jackpot. 15156c

Heavy Metal makes use of the tried and true classic slot format that was typically used by Microgaming in the early years. The game is played with 3 reels and 3 pay lines. The player is allowed to bet 1 to 3 coins per spin with a selected coin value of anywhere between $.25 and $5.00 per pay line. That calculates out to cash betting range of $.25 to $15 per spin. With a maximum potential jackpot of 4,000 coins, the most a player can win on any given spin would be $20,000. That's not bad for a simple, classic slot game.

On the reels, players will find standard fruit machine symbols. With the associated multipliers provided, this is what the pay table looks like: any three bullets - 5X. three double bullets - 20X, three triple bullets - 50X, any bullet/Cyber Girl/any 7 - 75X, three 7s - 150X, and Cyber Girl who comes with three different payouts. If the player lands one reel of Cyber Girls, they earn a 1000X multiplier. If they land two complete lines of Cyber Girls, they earn a 2000X multiplier, Finally, a full house or three full line of Cyber Girls will return a game high 4000X.

There are no wild symbols, holds, nudges, video features, sound bits, scatter symbols or bonus games. It's spin and win or spin and lose, as simple as that.

Verdict: The game's large jackpot and small investment requirement are the only two reasons anyone would want to play this game. What's particularly disturbing is Microgaming has other non-de-script, but most of them at least have a game theme that might draw a little interest. This game can't even offer that much.
